Anish De is an MBA graduate from Xavier Institute of Management, Bhubaneswar after BE in Machanical Engineering from Regional Engineering College, Rourkela. He is the KPMG’s Global Head for Power & Utilities and National Head for Energy, Natural Resources and Chemicals for KPMG in India. He has over 25 years of experience in energy sector consulting. As a renowned power sector expert, Anish has undertaken pioneering work in sector reform and restructuring, designing sectorial policy and regulatory framework; commercial and financial advisory; PPP; strategic planning, economic analysis; investment frameworks; corporate strategies, turnaround plans, institutional strengthening, and capacity building; power markets; energy efficiency; smart grids and digital.

Anish has extensively contributed towards India’s power sector reforms. His recommendations became basis of the formulation of the National Electricity Policy, Tariff Policy and Competitive Bidding Guidelines for power procurement, etc. He also helped usher the power markets in India and is assisting its ongoing transformation. He has been a member of several key government task forces and committees on clean energy. He has also worked with a large number of corporate strategy and transformation projects.

Anish has extensively worked in national and international markets including India, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Nepal, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Iran, Southern African Power Pool, Maldives, Turkey, and Afghanistan.
