As Director, Renewable Energy, UL, Asia Pacific, Dr. Chakradhar Byreddy leads the testing, inspection, certification and advisory operations along with the company’s service line expansion in wind, solar and battery storage industries in the region. He also drives UL’s efforts for stakeholder engagement in the renewable energy space by building relationships with various government ministries, regulators and industry associations.

Dr. Byreddy has over 15 years of experience in engineering and next-generation technologies in the clean energy, Oil and Gas and Aerospace segments. He has worked with different private equity, debt financing and insurance organizations for their financial modelling and assumptions to understand project risks in the area of wind and solar. He has worked for several key industry companies including China headquartered Envison Energy, Norway based quality assurance and risk management company DNV GL, GL RC, Vestas Americas and Baker Hughes Americas.

A certified Six-Sigma in DMAIC/DFSS, Dr. Byreddy holds a Doctorate in Mechanical Engineering from Vanderbilt University, Tennessee, USA. He also has 10 patents and nine technical publications to his credit.

A Senior Member of the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA) and the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), Dr. Byreddy also lends his expertise as a Technical Reviewer for the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) Journal of Dynamic Systems Measurement and Control.
