A seasoned professional in the field of renewable energy, Mr Balram Mehta joined ReNew Power in 2011. During ReNew’s initial years, Balram was instrumental in setting up ReNew’s wind business working alongside Founder & Chairman, Mr Sumant Sinha. Balram supervised ReNew’s journey into became a leader in the wind energy space in India. Over the years, Balram has led a multifaceted role in ReNew Power. Currently, ReNew’s Chief Operating Officer, he is heading the entire Asset Management portfolio & Advocacy Function at ReNew. In addition, he has also been a key member and a pillar of support for ReNew’s Digital Initiative (ReD.)

Mr Balram Mehta has always been a key voice of India’s wind energy business and continues to play an active role in advocating the strengthening of the sector and making it a potent force for India to reach the target 500 GW by 2030. Over the years, he has headed various associations and committees in the wind business ecosystem. In addition to being an expert speaker on various national and international seminars on Wind Energy, he is closely associated with IWPA and is currently the President of WIPPA (Wind Independent Power Producers Association). He was an attendee at a 6-day program on Orchestrating the Winning Performance (OWP-2011) organized by IMD in Switzerland.

With a total work experience of 29 years, Balram started his career with DCM Engineering products (Foundry Unit of DCM Group) and spent close to 11 years with them in the Electrical Maintenance and Projects Department. He entered the wind energy sector with Enercon India Limited in 2003. Subsequently, Balram worked with CLP India Limited as Vice President, Operations (Renewable), responsible for the construction and O&M of CLP India’s wind portfolio.

He holds a Masters in Business Administration in Operations Management. A gold medalist at his university, he completed his Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from REC (now NIT) Hamirpur, Himachal Pradesh.
