Dr. Emilio Gomez Lazaro is an Electrical Engineering Professor at the University of Castilla-La Mancha, Spain He has been working at the UCLM around 20 years, where he holds the position of director of the Renewable Energy Research Institute.

As part of his research, he has been involved in more than 200 R&D projects and contracts for public and private institutions. In addition, he has published over 100 papers in ISI indexed peer-reviewed journals and over 200 contributions in books, and conferences, and is co-inventor of 9 national and international patents.

Dr. Goméz is a member of different IEEE Societies; a member of CIGRE, the Spanish representative on the IEA Wind Annex Task 25, participating as expert representing Spain in different international working groups for the IEC. Emilio Gomez is the president of CTN 221 “Wind energy generation systems”, part of the Spanish Accreditation Body UNE, with almost 70 standards developed by this committee.
