Ms. Nishtha Gupta has over 16 years of experience guiding organizations through sustainability transformation, ESG journeys, product stewardship, biodiversity management, responsible sourcing, carbon neutrality, and circular economy principles. She currently serves as Group Head – Sustainability and ESG at Suzlon, where she drives sustainability initiatives within the organization and provides strategic guidance to domestic and international clients through implementation support, monitoring, and technical workshops. Her prior experience spans leadership roles at Bureau Veritas, Investcorp, AECOM, TUV SUD South Asia, and Reliance Power.

Ms. Gupta has made significant contributions to the global sustainability landscape, including serving as Chair of the ESG Committee, TIC Council (Brussels, Belgium), and as a Technical Committee member for BIS Working Groups for ESG reporting standards. Her efforts have been recognized with numerous awards, including “Global Sustainability Professional of the Year, 2025,” “ET Edge Top 100 Chief Sustainability Officers, 2025,” “Trailblazer Women Leadership Award in Renewable/Sustainability, 2025,” and multiple accolades for sustainability leadership in 2023 and 2024.

She holds an M.Sc. in Water Resources Management from TERI University, India, and brings extensive experience in industry, consulting, and private equity, implementing sustainability across the entire lifecycle of products and services. Ms. Gupta has worked on projects of varying scale across sectors such as power plants, mining, renewable projects, cement, infrastructure, hospitality, CRZ, and consumer products. Her advisory and capacity-building efforts help organizations, industrial conglomerates, and investors use sustainability as a strategic tool to enhance business excellence, manage risks, benchmark performance, and deliver positive environmental, economic, and social impact. Her practical, solution-oriented approach to driving net zero, circularity, and sustainability excellence is widely admired by peers, clients, and PSUs alike.
