Sh. Prashant Kumar Singh is at present Secretary, Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE),

Government of India. He is a bureaucrat of the Indian Administrative Service of 1993 batch form Manipur

Cadre.

He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from IIT Delhi and a gold medal in his Master's

Degree in Public Policy & Sustainable Development from TERI University, New Delhi.

In his last role as CEO of GEM, he raised the annual procurement on GEM from a mere Rs. 38000 crore to over Rs. 4 lakh crore in 2023-24.
